Black, White, and Shades of Gray – Group Exhibition at Stamford Art Association
Exhibition Dates: May 22 - June 19, 2025
Location: Stamford Art Association, 39 Franklin Street, Stamford, CT 06901
White Plains artist Erwin Ong was part of Black, White, and Shades of Gray, a juried exhibition at the Stamford Art Association that explored the expressive power of limited palettes. The competitive show brought together works that focused on form, contrast, and the poetic simplicity of grayscale. Erwin's piece "32 Fish" was included in the showcase.

About the Show
Organized annually by the Stamford Art Association, Black, White, and Shades of Gray challenges artists to “say more with less.” By removing color from the equation, the exhibition highlights composition, contrast, and texture. This year, the show featured a wide range of media—from drawing to photography—each piece offering a unique take on monochrome storytelling.
Featured Artwork
32 Fish
32 Fish is my exploration of rhythm and repetition, using simple forms to create a meditative visual flow. In black and white, the shapes become characters—moving, resting, and reflecting together in a quiet dance of pattern and pause.
Though the exhibition has ended, you can explore more of my nature‑inspired and minimalist work in my online shop, or stay connected by joining my newsletter below.

A Personal Invitation
Working within black, white, and shades of gray was a quiet challenge—removing color’s distraction so I could focus on form, balance, and space. I’m grateful to have had “32 Fish” included alongside such thoughtful pieces.
