Exhibition: "What Brings Us Together" by Erwin Ong

Posters about community, connection, and care by New York-based artist Erwin Ong. May 30-July 9, 2026, at Wilton Library in Wilton, Connecticut.

What Brings Us Together grew out of a crosswalk mural I designed for Wilton Pride in 2025, installed in front of the Wilton Family YMCA. Bringing the mural to life became a true community effort, with people of all ages coming together to help paint it over two days.

Although the mural has since been painted over, I still cherish how the community responded; I received many heartfelt messages about its positive message, the bright and happy colors, and the sense of connection it created. That experience inspired me to expand the project into this series of posters.

Through images inspired by the natural world and words rooted in shared values, these works explore the connections between ourselves, our communities, and the living world around us.

Together, these works are reminders of the values that help us stay connected to ourselves, to our neighbors, and to the communities we build together.
