About the Event

Zine Lab: Create Your Own Illustrated Booklets with Erwin Ong

In this fun and fast-paced workshop, young artists and storytellers will dive into the world of zines: mini self-published booklets that can hold anything you imagine!

Over three creative hours, students will explore what zines are and how they can be used to share personal stories, comics, poems, how-to guides, artwork, or even jokes and coloring pages. We’ll look at real zine examples for inspiration and learn how to make a one-sheet foldable zine from start to finish.

Participants will brainstorm ideas, write, draw, and decorate their own zine to take home by the end of the session. There will be time for both collaboration and quiet making, plus ideas for how to share or trade zines with friends.

Whether you love to write, draw, or simply want to try something new, this workshop is a great introduction to creative self-expression and DIY publishing. No experience needed—just bring your imagination!
